David A Brock

Chief Justice of the New Hampshire Supreme Court, David Brock graduated from Dartmouth College and the University of Michigan Law School. He served from 1958 to 1961 as a lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. He was appointed to the New Hampshire Superior Court in 1976 and two years later was appointed to the state Supreme Court. He was named Chief Justice in 1986 and now resides in Hopkington. He has served as chairman of the New Hampshire Supreme Court Commission on Court Accreditation, Committee on Judicial Conduct, and the Rules Advisory Committee. In addition, he is a member of the State Judicial Council. Justice Brock is also a member of the national advisory board of the Leadership Institute for Judicial Education and of the education committee of the Appellate Judges Conference of the American Bar Association. He has a leadership role in several national organizations, notably the Conference of Chief Justices of which he will assume the presidency in 1998.
